Name: Zelora (Sometimes called "Laura" as a play on the latter part of her name)
Race: Zebra
Gender: Mare
General appearance: [see profile pic]
Age: 27-31 winters
Faction: Hunter (as classified by military)
Personality:
She is the kind to "Walk softly and carry a big stick." She is not overtly hostile but almost always likes to have an escape or trump card to use (usually in the form of a bola and some other improvised weapon) if needed.
While she does engage other ponies it is more out of necessity then an actual desire for interaction. Holding vaguely to the traditions she was taught as a child she is a free spirit and has also grown to be quite a lone wolf steering clear of QZ's if possible, finding the tight control and order 'unnatural' to the wild way of the world. Despite this strong survive outlook of the natural way, she is not heartless. Only a little stony on the exterior.
Background:
Before Patient-0 became infected, spread it's spores, and the civilized world fell apart, Zelora lived comfortably in the primal forest of the Everfree. Surrounded by her relatives and family they lived deep in the weird depths of the woods, growing up alongside many a dangerous plant or animal on a daily basis, but kept safe by the whole and their traditions of hunting and gathering. Having to craft her own weapons for hunting and natural remedies since a young age, she had grown strong, agile, and resourceful coming into her maturity. Uniquely prepared as if by fate for the abandoned concrete jungle that awaited her in the future. On the cusp of Marehood, many members of her tribe and family began growing sickly and erratic. Within days one of the sick tribesmen had already killed an elder and it's same madness being shown by several others, the spread like wildfire she left to find a way to lift whatever curse or sickness had befallen them.
She did not return. Seeing the pyre smoke rise from her village after the next day told her there was no point but to move forward.
Since then she has spent her adult years learning and adapting to her new home among the ruins of the equine cities, hunting, scavenging, and exploring as she had always learned to do. While not a massive fan of tourists she isn't exactly going to kill them on site, nor is she on good terms with other hunters either, finding them to usually be simple brutes and bullies and making it perfectly clear at every opportunity.
To be frank, she was labeled as a hunter after an incident involving the death of military personal and redistribution of their hardware to an ill off family passing through her 'zone' at the time.
